Sorrowless Tree - Asoka - Diya Rath Mal 

Saraca asoca, known as the Asoka Tree is a evergreen flowering plant in the family Leguminosae. It also referred by many other names include Sorrowless Tree, Ashoka Tree, Sita Ashok and Asogam Tree. The species is native to Sri Lanka, India and adjacent regions of Southeast Asia. It is a popular ornamental plant and is also used in herbal medicine that as it's name 'Sorrowless Tree' considered plant has various medicinal properties specially for Ayurveda remedies related to diseases more common in woman. The plant can be found naturally in wild and home gardens in the country. however, Asoka tree have been marked as vulnerable by the Conservation Status of the Fauna and Flora of Sri Lanka. Ashoka tree is a sacred tree and worship the tree in some countries in Indian subcontinent. Also, According to the Mahayana Buddhism, it is considered that Queen Maha Maya giving birth to the Prince Siddhartha who became Buddha, under the this tree but It should be Shala tree according to the Theravada Buddhist tradition.
